Study after study by various institutes across the world have shown that regular cleaning of teeth by a dental surgeon ( scaling of teeth) is a must.

Therefore, every individual must get his teeth cleaned by a dentist regularly.

This is because even with the best oral hygiene practices of the patient some amount of plaque still remains on the tooth surfaces. This plaque hardens into tartar and causes gum swellings ( gingivitis) .

Furthermore research now tells us that bad gums contribute to many medical problems like diabetes, cardiac problems etc.

Those patients who have medical problems like diabetes, etc must especially remember and get their teeth cleaned at regular intervals. Pregnant women must also get their teeth cleaned once or twice during pregananncy.

I have always emphasized upon the regular cleaning of teeth, by a dental surgeon right from my initial days of practice since 1990.

Ours is the only practice that has developed a computerized recall and reminder system for the same.

After all, clean teeth means a bright smile and a bright smile means a bright day.

FROM REPAIRING TEETH TO BUILDING BONE

Time flies.

It is 32nd year  practice already. I started practice on 10th June 1990

Aging is a continuous process. Nobody can prevent aging and its effects. However if we take care of our body during our younger years, our body can serve as well, even in our golden years.

While there are many effects of aging on our body, one misconception that needs to be removed is that teeth fall with age. It has been proven beyond  doubt that teeth can stay through out the life time. Proper precautions have to be taken from our teenage years, so that teeth give us good service, even in the golden years.

Herein, I would like to mention about the 80/20 movement launched by the Japanese Government. It means you take a series of measures, so that at least 20 teeth stay in the mouth till age 80.This program has been successful.

Implants are the latest treatment modalities for replacing artificial teeth. In case, if there is less bone in the jaws to support implants, they can still be placed by building up bone. While artificial bone can be placed, we can also take up bone from different areas of the body. Implants offer many advantages & help maintain quality of life.

All said and done, implants are the wave of the future, as far as artificial teeth are concerned.
