MUSINGS ON TIME WORDS DATE , MANDATE & INTIMIDATE / UPTIME , DOWNTIME

At times some words in any language can be profoundly philosophical. I think mandate and intimidate are two such words in English language.

What you do at a particular point of time is different from what others are supposed to do at that point of time.

Also what a particular person is supposed to do at a particular point of time will differ from what he is supposed to do at some other point of time.

Time or stage in life is very important in decision making of any kind.

I think this concept is captured very well in the word ‘MANDATE’.

There is a ‘DATE’ in ‘MANDATE’ & our responsibilities in life depend on the period of time we are living in.

Time is a vanishing resource & time will always be against us. Time taken to complete a particular task is a very important consideration to decide whether we should embark on a particular task or not. There is no point starting a business of it is going to take 50 years to become commercially viable. This concept is captured very well in the word ‘INTIMIDATE’.

Everyone has been given a limited time to complete their tasks & it is essential that every human being performs the life tasks that has been mandated for him. And any human being with even the most basic intellect & awareness knows that time is intimidating.

Do your life tasks in time otherwise it cannot be done.

However the most interesting & most philosophical aspect of DATE is that DATE also means our partners ( in common parlance it although means unmarried partners whom we may or may not marry )

Taking a more philosophical view it implies that even our partners are decided by time .

Steady is a also  function of time & space & so time decides with whom we go steady with

Language at times can be self contradictory.

DOWN TIME means the time in which a particular machine or a website or a particular entity is non functional.

UP TIME means the time in which a particular machine or a website or an entity is functional.

And lo ……TIME IS UP means it’s all over.

So before our  TIME IS UP let us have the maximum UPTIME qualitatively .
